More Playground Equipment Installed in Navajoland

Last week (Nov 5 and 6), a friend, BYU volunteers, and I worked on several playground projects in the northern Navajo Nation.

At a Christian preschool in Montezuma Creek, UT, we installed a combination swing-and-slide set.  The ladder section was purchased from Component Playgrounds in Salt Lake City.  The upper piece on the ladder slips over the horizontal pipe.  The ladder is for access for a slide which we will install later.

At St. Christopher’s Mission near Bluff, we installed a three-section balance beam.  It is made out of pressure-treated 4×4 wood anchored with porch footings.  We also tested a “bumble bee” child seat that we had previously added to an existing swing set.

Across the street at Attcityville, we started on the construction and installation of monkey rings.  The rings are attached to a 4×4 which is elevated by metal fence poles.
