Over the last few years, at the winter solstice, the town of Bluff (southeastern Utah) torches a unique work of art. This year they will be burning a branch-and-twig bison.
I was recently in Bluff and got a glance at their latest work. Artist J.R. Lancaster was getting ready to add the final touches to a monumental bison. He had just finished working on the hump, and his next task was to make the creation more stable.
See you in Bluff on December 21st.
